Utsav
UTSAV literally means festival..and is thinkIndia Foundation's first annual fall event. We are planning similar events every year to bring the community together in an afternoon and evening of fun dedicated to raising funds for charity. The atmosphere is designed to be one of a festival where people -- of Indian or non-Indian origin -- can shop for a variety of things, from handicrafts to clothes, from art to home décor, from T shirts to jewellery…
You can have your hands set to the exquisite designs of "mehndi"…. Or try yourr voices out at the karaoke booth and walk away with their own CD…
And of course, you can sample the delicacies of North and South Indian cuisine all through the evening… from chaat to idlis, from chai to tender coconut water!
To cap it all you can step out on the dance floor and swing to the beat of garba, raas, Bollywood dandia, and bhangra all evening long.… dance to live music from a 20 person orchestra featuring musicians on a variety of instruments supporting the talented singing group!
Certainly a "fun" evening, and you'll be raising funds for charity!
