ANTARAA - A Celebration of Life : March 7, 2009

"Antaraa" showcased the talents of the local community bringing to life a spectacular theatrical production -- over 70 performers, many more production people, costume and make-up people, and volunteers totaling over 200 people involved in putting the event together!

The production was all about the celebration of life in India… and India knows how to celebrate – every aspect, every facet of life -- from prayer chants to late-night parties, from plentiful harvests to elaborate weddings, from the bounties of nature to the deep wells of spirituality!

And every celebration involves music and dance! In the villages or in the cities, on street corners or in air-conditioned theaters, an infinite variety of music and an equal diversity of dance are the threads that form the color and texture of life, that weave the rich tapestry of the celebration that is life in India!

On wings of music…
to the lovely strains of melody and harmony…
to the beat of foot-tapping rhythm…
an evening to experience, remember and cherish!

Presented in a Broadway style production
With gifted singers, dancers, actors and talented production artistes
Accompanied by a live orchestra with a full complement of Indian and Western instruments
And in the lobby, mouth-watering food tempted the attendees… and an art competition attracted over 60 youngsters to try their hand at art… and produced some absolutely stunning work!! Here is a list of the winners of the contest, and the work of winners:
